Expressing shock and sadness at the tragic accident at Mecca, CM Banerjee said a round the clock control room in Haj House has been opened

A woman from West Bengal is among those killed in the crane collapse at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Sunday. 

"As of now, one death and two injuries have been reported from our state. Muniza Ahmed from Asansol has lost her life. Liakat Hossain from West Midnapore and Hasem Ali from Malda have received injuries," the chief minister said in a Facebook post.

Expressing shock and sadness at the tragic accident at Mecca, she said a round the clock control room in Haj House has been opened and a toll free helpline 18003457155 put into operation to help people. "Contact is being made with relatives of dead and injured for all help and support. My deep condolence to the bereaved families. I also wish speedy recovery of the injured.

We are with all of them," Banerjee said. Two Indians have been killed and 15 others injured in the accident in Mecca in which more than 100 people have died, the External Affairs Ministry said in Delhi on Sunday.
