Bengaluru: Policeman caught on camera beating up adult daughter on streets

A policeman was caught on camera beating up his adult daughter on the streets of tech city Bengaluru. Two young women from Bengaluru, Nivedita Chakraborty and Archana Sharad came to the rescue of that girl. Later these girls took to Facebook to explain the incident and shame the father.

According to the Facebook post of Nivedita Chakraborty, the policeman had suspicion that his daughter was having an affair and wanted her to marry someone of his choice. The girl's mother was also there blaming the girl for bringing shame upon the family. The policeman and his wife, a teacher, were from Madurai.

Nivedita and Archana managed to rescue the girl and they took refuge in their car. But the policeman sat on the bonnet and did not allow those girls to drive. The girls called Bengaluru police but the help arrived some 30 minutes later.

However, even the man was taken to Ulsoor police station, no complain was filed against him. 
 
Speaking to dna correspondent, Mann, the residents on '2nd Main Domalur Layout' confirmed about the incident taking place at 9.30 am. He said, "I was attending to my son who had to go to school, but I came out when there was a noise on the road. However, since we did not know why there was a tussle between the father and daughter, we did not interfere.’’
 
Meanwhile, Keshava Reddy, the owner of a paying guest (PG) accommodation, said girl’s parents were waiting for her since 7 am. He said, "Her mother was advising her to come down and meet her father who was waiting on the road. She did not listen to her mother. However, the girl came down as soon as her lover called her over the phone. Again she gone to her room and changed her dress and came down. At this juncture her father tried to stop her by holding her hand but she managed to avoid her father."

"Enraged with her attitude, her father hold her hair. At this juncture two girls happen to pass through this road, who took photos and informed the police,’’ said Reddy.

Reddy further stated that he girl was staying as the paying guest for one year and vacated the place on Thursday evening. Later, Her parents took her to their native place.

When enquired if any complaint was registered, YG Ramalingaiah, sub-inspector of Ulsoor Police Station, said, "The parents refused to file the complaint. They said that they do not want to file a complaint. So, we allowed them to go home.’’
