The internet-savvy group, led by one Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga (@tejinderbagga on Twitter) posted a tweet saying: “God give us power to complete our mission.”

Bhushan was speaking to a TV news channel when the two youths barged into his office in the New Lawyers Chamber opposite Supreme Court this afternoon and started showering blows on him. The lawyer was pulled out of the chair, slapped, dragged and repeatedly punched. He was pinned down on the floor and kicked on his chest. Bhushan's shirt was torn and his spectacles fell when he was roughed up.

After the incident, (@tejinderbagga posted: “he try to break my Nation,i try to break his head.Hisab chukta. Congrats to all. operation Prashant Bhushan successful”.

The Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena also has a Facebook page which has been inundated with hate messages since the group claimed responsibility for the attack. Their description on Facebook reads:
“A team of guys who are crazy for nation, those who can do anything for Nation.A task force against traitors, anti nationals & corrupts. a team of people, those who are ready to take any action to teach anti nationals & traitors.” (Sic)

The group also maintains a blog at http://bhagatsinghkrantisena.blogspot.com/.

The group was also behind the attack on Arundhati Roy at a program where she launched her essays Broken Republic. Her speech “against India, Army & in favour of Kashmir aazadi (freedom) (sic)” drew the wrath of the group which protested against the seminar at Delhi’s India Habitat Centre on May 20, 2011. An FIR was filed in the case and activists were locked up for one and a half days.
