PANAJI: Socialite Bina Ramani, a key witness in the high-profile Jessica Lall murder case and accused of forgery and cheating, was brought to Goa on Tuesday morning for further interrogation in the forgery case.
Police sources disclosed that Delhi Police's Special Investigating Team (SIT) has begun search of her house at Candolim.
"Goa police crime branch team is also accompanying SIT in their operation," Deputy Inspector General of Police Ujwal Mishra said.
SIT wanted to recover the forged documents Ramani, currently in police custody, had allegedly furnished for procuring the license for running a restaurant in South Delhi.
Sources disclosed that SIT is looking out for fake ration card and other documents used by her to get the licence.
DIG Mishra confirmed that the raids were on.
According to prosecution, a document dated December 10, 2002 recovered from the computer of Ramani had showed that she had shifted all the household goods to Goa for which she needed to be taken to the state.
