It is necessary to train our forces and equip them to fight a chemical or a biological attack, says Rajnath Singh

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday addressed the scientists of Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDE) as a part of his one-day visit at the organisation's headquarters in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Singh discussed the inventions and research carried out by the scientists at the establishment in the one-hour long meeting. Addressing the gathering, he said that biochemical warfare cannot be ignored considering the rapid growth in terrorism.

"It is necessary to train our forces and equip them to fight a chemical or biological attack," said Singh. "When I saw the various inventions and defence mechanisms built by scientists here at DRDE, I am fully convinced that India can fend off any kind of biochemical attack," remarked Singh.

He said that though the common people don't know the kind of work done by the scientists at DRDE, they play a vital role in strengthening the country's defences.

"When I came here and saw it all for myself, I can surely say that this is all highly commendable," said the minister.

Rajnath Singh also assured that he will bring forth all these inventions for the common people to see in a public meeting.

Indirectly taking a dig the neighbouring country Pakistan and other anti-national forces, he said that if he publicly talks about the kind of inventions and research done at DRDE, it will stir up a huge controversy.
