The BJP today hit out at Digvijay Singh for favouring bail to undertrials, terming it as an attempt to "derail justice", and said the statement had been made because of cases and allegations faced by Congress leaders, including ministers.

"There is an attempt to derail justice. I would not like to comment on statements made by people who refer to Osama bin Laden 'ji', and they are talking of justice. Infact, they are trying to derail justice," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy told reporters.

"I think it is an attempt to draw the attention away from the real culprits who are involved in all these scams whether it is the 2G scam ot the Commonwealth games," Rudy said.

He said that some people who faced corruption allegation included Congress ministers at the Centre. "Congress is trying to escape blame by shifting all the blame on its allies," Rudy said.

"It is a deliberate attempt by individual leaders in the Congress party, even ministers in the Congress party to absolve those who are the real culprits," Rudy said.

"The real culprits are at large which the nation is also witnessing," Rudy added.
