Dasharath Patel, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Mansa by-poll, which is scheduled to be held on March 18, filled up his candidature form on Tuesday.
Patel submitted the form at the Kalol mamlatdar office sharp at 12.39 - the time considered to be Vijay Mahurat and auspicious as per Hindu rituals.
By-elections for Mansa constituency was necessitated after assembly speaker Mangaldas Patel’s death. Patel filled up the form in presence of hundreds of BJP workers and senior BJP leaders Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and Jaysinh Chauhan. Patel is an engineer and runs educational institutions.
