Bodies of 22 Sabarimala stampede victims airlifted

Bodies of 22 sabarimala pilgrims, who were among the 102 killed in the ghastly stampede at Pulmedu of friday, were today airlifted to different destinations from the Kochi airport.

Bodies of 22 sabarimala pilgrims, who were among the 102 killed in the ghastly stampede at Pulmedu of friday, were today airlifted to different destinations from the Kochi airport.

The first flight carrying the mortal remains of the victims was airlifted at 8.15am when three bodies were taken to mumbai, airprot sources said.

Another flight left for mumbai fifteen minutes later with four other bodies.

Bodies were also airlfited to Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The bodies, which were embalmed at District Hospital at Ernakulam, were brought to Kochi airport last night. 

The district administration led by collector M Beena, police led by SP T Vikram, CIAL led by airport director ACK Nair, and officials of various airlines coordianted in dispatching the bodies quickly.
