Bodies of a couple, who committed suicide by jumping into the Ganga canal after their families opposed their relationship, have been recovered from the water body from Sardhana in the district, police said today.
Gaurav and Priyanka, a student of B.Sc first year of DN College here, allegedly committed suicide by jumping in the canal on May 8 after their families opposed their alliance, they said.
The bodies of the couple have been fished out and sent for postmortem, Deputy SP Yogendra Pal told reporters here.
In another case, 26-year-old Ravinder allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at Bilaspur village in Muzaffarnagar district yesterday.
