Even though Delhi seemed to have made a conscious attempt to distance itself from Bollywood initially, unlike the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, it ended with Bipasha walking the ramp.

NEW DELHI: What a finale it was! The women in the Capital will be eternally grateful to designer Arjun Khanna for the scrumptious eye candy that his show provided. After showcasing one of the best men’s wear collections, Khanna and his models were a huge success. So much so, that they got a standing ovation from the audience. Rose petals, romantic ballads and oodles of attitude summed up his show.

Then came the moment ever one was waiting for. Queen bee Bipasha Basu walked the ramp, dressed all in white. Even though Delhi seemed to have made a conscious attempt to distance itself from Bollywood initially, unlike the Lakme Fashion Week in Mumbai, it ended with Bipasha walking the ramp. But then, no one complained.

The grand finale of the IFW was by Rohit Gandhi, Rahul Khanna and Monisha Jaisingh. Though Rahul and Rohit did manage a few showstoppers, after Khanna’s show, nothing quite matched up to expectations. Jaisingh too did not showcase anything worth writing home about.

Rumours are abuzz in Delhi that Bipasha was paid a whopping amount, something between Rs 10-15 lakh, to walk the ramp.

Meanwhile, Manish Malhotra was unanimously voted the most-quoted designer. Though he never participated in the fashion week, he gave the maximum number of sound bytes to various television channels.

What’s more, several celebrities in Delhi changed their outfit every one hour. And of course the wardrobe malfunction that everybody seemed to be praying for never happened.
