A boy was killed and five others were injured, including a girl, when lightning struck a village of Mendhar area in Jammu and Kashmir, police said here today.
The lightning struck in Balnoi village of Mendhar area, about 190-kms from here, in Poonch district yesterday, they said.
12-year-old Shakeel Ahmed was killed on the spot, while two of his family members were injured in the incident, they said, adding three youths, including a girl, were injured when lightning struck a nearby house.
The injured were later rushed to sub-district hospital at Mendhar.
