JODHPUR: Hollywood star couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt went on a jewellery shopping spree in this historic Rajasthan city.

The couple, who arrived on October 20 on a two-day trip, purchased traditional Rajasthani jewellery from Gems & Art Plaza -- a Jodhpur-based jewellery showroom.

"Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, along with their son, visited our showroom and purchased traditional Kundan and Minakari jewellery from us," DR Singhvi, owner of the showroom, said.

"The couple spent over two hours here and showed keen interest in emerald and silver jewellery too," he added.

According to him, Jolie was fascinated by the jewellery studded with precious and semi-precious stones. Minakari is an age-old art where ornaments are crafted in gold and silver and intricate enamel work is engraved in special colours including red, green, blue and yellow.

The duo also signed the visitor's books at the showroom, which has earlier been visited by several international stars.

"Richard Gere, Peter O'Toole and Britney Spears are some of the personalities who have visited our showroom in the recent past," Singhvi said.

Brangelina stayed at the Umed Bhawan Palace and also celebrated Diwali here, according to hotel sources.

The couple landed at the hotel by a helicopter Oct 20 from Jaipur, the source added. The actors, their son Maddox and their 21-member Hollywood unit, were welcomed by members of the Jodhpur royalty.

Their stay here had been kept a secret due to security considerations. But sources said they set out to enjoy the Diwali illumination in the city at night that was all aglow against the backdrop of the magnificently lit up Jodhpur fort.

Jolie and Pitt are camping in Pune to shoot for A Mighty Heart, a film on the Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl who was abducted and slain by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002.

Jolie plays Pearl's widow Mariane in the film. The couple left for Pune Monday evening.
