BSF jawan Rameez Ahmad Parray shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora.

In a stark reminder of Lt Umar Faiyaz's killing in May, the terrorists gunned down a jawan of the Border Security Forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora on Wednesday.

The terrorists stormed the house of Rameez Ahmad Parray in Bandipora's Hajin area, and started firing indiscriminately.

The 30-year-old BSF personnel, who had come home on leave, was declared dead on arrival at the local hospital.

Other members of Parray's family including his father Mohamad Mqabool Parray, mother and his aunt also got injured in the attack.

The trio have been shifted to hospital for treatment. The Jammu and Kashmir Police took to Twitter to inform about the killing.

The BSF also issued the statement and said the entire force stands by Parray's family.

Parray's killing is eerily similar to the kidnapping and murder of Lt Umar Faiyaz, a 22-year-old young army officer, who was posted with 2 Rajputana Rifle.

Lt Faiyaz was was picked up from his house at Harmein in Kulgam in May. The body of the young officer was later found three kilometres from his house.

The incident took place when the army officer had gone to attend the wedding ceremony of a relative.

He was abducted by five to six terrorists from his relative's house in south Kashmir's Shopian.

His bullet-riddled body was found in Harmain area of Shopian.

A local boy from Kulgam district, Faiyaz was in the Infantry and posted in Akhnoor area in Jammu.

He was commissioned in the Army in December last year. His death, particularly the brutal nature of it had shaken the Valley.
