NEW DELHI: 'Bikers gang' leader, Bunty, it seemed, wanted to take a scene straight out of Bollywood potboiler "Tashan" where Anil Kapoor played the role of a don, who loved parroting the Queen's language.
Only that Anil Kapoor had Saif Ali Khan to help him out hone his phonetic skills, and Bunty had none. So the real life don had sought companionship of a copy of the Rapidex English Speaking Course, an English-English-Hindi dictionary and an exercise book to dabble his pen with sentences like "I live in Kolkata; I do not live in Delhi".
These books, besides a copy of a Hindi magazine which reported about 'Most wanted dons', were part of the items seized during raids to nab Bunty in several parts of the national capital.
"It seems that he wanted to become an English-speaking don. He was ambitious and street-smart," Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal said.
Bunty, who studied up to the primary level, always wanted to make it big in crime but was not that physically strong.
"He used firearms during robberies as he was aware that he could not overpower anyone in physical fight. His physique was his main handicap and he resorted to using firearms," Dhaliwal said.
His telephone diary, which was seized by police, also showed that he was extremely careful not to give any hints to police in case it was seized. The numbers were written using code words which only he could decipher.
One of his associates Nazir told police that he used the moneybag as his pillow fearing that he may lose it, he said.
