Three can bombs, each weighing over 20kg, were today recovered from the dense Bendi forest by a team headed by Hazariabagh police chief Pankaj Kamboj.The bombs were recovered from a spot on the Hazaribagh-Chatra road which runs through the forest.Following a tip off that the Maoists had planted the bombs, the police searched the areas and recovered them, the SP told newsmen here.He claimed that the Maoists planted the bombs with an aim to target the police who were deployed to maintain law and order in those areas during Ramnavami processions to be taken out this evening.Personnel of bomb disposal squad defused the bombs, he saidPolice stations of Keredari, Barkagaon, Kadkumsandi and adjoining Chatra district’s Simaria and Tandwa were alerted and patrolling stepped up.
