Cards with emergency helpline numbers for women in distress were launched in Delhi on Friday on International Women's Day. The cards would be distributed free to women across the country.

Power generating company Welspun, in association with the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), launched the card here. It has numbers of helplines for counselling, rape crisis, pre-marital counselling, anti-stalking, and the like.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who unveiled the card, said there should be a change in the mindset of the people to ensure a safe and secure environment for women.

"The change should begin within families," said Dikshit as she stressed on the need for respecting women.

Barkha Singh, chairperson of DCW, said it was "high time men changed their mindset".

The cards would be distributed in schools, colleges and offices.
