CBSE class XII Hindi paper not leaked, clarifies education board: 10 points

Amid severe criticism and backlash from students over the paper leak, the CBSE on Saturday issued clarification on the class XII Hindi exam. The exam is scheduled on April 2. 

Here are 10 major updates from this story:

1: In an alert issued today, the CBSE rejected rumours that the class XII Hindi paper has been leaked.

2: ‘It is bring to the kind notice that fake question paper of Class XII-Hindi (Elective) (enclosed) is being circulated on social media i.e. WhatsApp, YouTube etc is not real one,’ the CBSE statement said. 

3: ‘It is hereby informed that the question paper circulating on social media are either of old year or fake question paper,’ the statement added.

4: ‘Hence it is requested not to circulate the news about these fake question papers so that the students and other stakeholders are not misled,’ the statement concluded.  

5: The clarification comes after massive crackdown in the paper leak case.

 

6: On Saturday itself, 3 adults were arrested and 9 minors were detained by Chatra police in Jharkhand. According to Chatra police, the three people arrested are part of a coaching institute called Study Vision which leaked question papers. 1 of them was arrested from Jharkhand and 2 from Bihar.

7: FIRs have been filed against them based on relevant sections of IPC. 9 minors who have detained are class X students. They have been remanded to juvenile home.

8: About 5 lakh Class XII students wrote their economics paper on Monday and 17 lakh Class X students wrote their maths paper on Wednesday. As reported earlier, CBSE had received a complaint by fax at 4.22 pm on Friday. An 'unknown source' said that a man named Vicky, who runs a coaching institute in West Delhi's Rajinder Nagar, was involved in leaks.

9: The Class XII economics paper will now be re-conducted on April 25 across India. A decision on the Class X math exam will be taken in 15 days. 

10: If at all, a retest will happen in July, but only in Delhi and Haryana where leaks were restricted, the government said on Friday. No retest in overseas centres because there was no leak there, it said.
