The year-long centenary celebrations of Saibaba Samadhi will conclude at Maharashtra's Shirdi town with a mega event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also participate. President Ram Nath Kovind was in Shirdi earlier this month to inaugurate the centenary programme.

Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis and many other VIPs will attend the functions organised by the Sai temple trust in Maharastra's Ahmednagar district. 

Elaborate arrangements have been made in Shirdi in view of PM Modi's arrival and a large number of devotees visiting the Sai Mandir. 

Here are 10 facts about Shirdi's Sai Baba temple: 

1. Worshipped by crores, Sai Baba took Samadhi on Dusshera in 1918 at Shirdi town. 

2. The Saibaba Sansthan Trust celebrated the centenary year of Sai Baba’s Mahasamadhi from October 1 to October 18 this year.

3. The Saibaba Sansthan Trust was established in 1922 with a sum of Rs 3,200. Today, the annual income of the trust is Rs 371 crore.

4. Sai Baba is known as the one worshipped by people of all faiths. 

5. Sai Baba first made his appearance in Shirdi as a youth and remained there throughout his life, devoting his life in the service of people.

6. PM Modi will also release a silver coin to commemorate centenary year of Shri Sai Baba Samadhi.

7. The temple trust has decided to gift 25 g of silver coin with an emblem of the Saint Sai Baba to former and incumbent trustees, dignitaries and people who are officially working for the trust.

8. The coin will also be up for sale as a memorabilia for those willing to buy it.

9. Lakhs of devotees have gathered in Shirdi to attend the celebrations. 

10. Adequate security arrangements have been made, with over 500 CCTV cameras, police personnel, bomb squads present in every corner of the temple town.
