The Central and Tamil Nadu governments should conduct immediately a special census on community basis and grant suitable representation to Vanniyars in all government posts, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) Tamil Nadu unit president GK Mani, MLA, said.
“The Vanniyars, basically in a backward status, is still struggling to get proper education and employment. So the government should give priority to Vanniyars in education and jobs”, he said last evening at a party meeting here in connection with a 'Vanniyar conference.'
