The victim's blood-soaked body was found on the outskirts of Markanar village under Koyalibeda police station limits this morning, a senior police official said.

A man was killed by Naxals on the suspicion of being a police informer in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, police said on Wednesday.

The victim's blood-soaked body was found on the outskirts of Markanar village under Koyalibeda police station limits this morning, a senior police official told PTI. "Mangel Usendi was abducted by some armed Naxals from his house in Pratappur village on Wednesday night. His body was found this morning outside Markanar village, following which police were informed," he said.

It is suspected Usendi was killed with sharp-edged weapons. Naxals also left some pamphlets on the spot in which they claimed he was a police informer, the police official said. The body was handed over to his relatives after the post- mortem. A case has been registered in the matter and a search launched in the forests to nab the assailants, he said.
