A 45-year-old man who allegedly raped a three-year-old girl was beaten to death by locals in Munger district, police said today.
Ajai Tanti, who used to sell toys in front of Pradeep Sao's house went away with his three-year-old daughter on the pretext of taking her around town and allegedly raped her at his Murgiachak locality late last night, station house officer of Kotwali police station Gautam Kumar said.
When Sao's daughter did not return home till late in the night, he went to Tanti's residence and found her daughter lying in a pool of blood on Tanti's bed.
He raised an alarm following which locals thrashed Tanti to death, the officer said adding that postmortem of the victim revealed that she died of profuse bleeding.
