A delegation of Christian leaders on Wednesday met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at the Delhi Secretariat and appreciated his concept of "swaraj." Delegation leader Archbishop Anil J T Couto praised Kejriwal's way of "leading" and termed his views on the concept of 'Swaraj' as "marvellous", a statement said.
The other members of delegation included Archbishop Vincent M Concessao, Fr Sushi Sebastian, Fr Mathew Koyickal, Fr Maria Susai, Fr Charles Irudayam and Fr Savarimuthu Sankar. The city had witnessed five attacks on churches and a Christian school in recent times.
A group of Imams also called on the Chief Minister and assured full cooperation to the government apart from wishing him good health and success. The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude towards them and said that he needs their full support in serving the people, the statement added.
Kejriwal had decried attempts to flare-up communal sentiments in his Ramlila Maidan speech after taking the oath of office and said he will make Delhi a city where members of every religion feel safe.
Meanwhile a delegation of 11 IAS probationers and representatives of traders associations also met the Chief Minister.
