In a novel bid to help common people with filing of complaints, police department has set up a 'city civic centre' in the new office of deputy commissioner of police (DCP) zone-6 and joint commissioner of police (JCP) of sector 2. The centre was inaugurated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.

DCP Zone-6 Sachin Badshah told DNA, "The city civic centre will have personnel to keep a tab on the complaints and applications submitted by people. A computer database maintaining records of all such applications is another feature of the centre."

An official will also be posted at the centre to help people with the information they seek under the Right to Information Act (RTI). Modi inaugurated the new office at Khokhra on Friday. Modi arrived amid tight security at around 6:30 pm.
