AAP leader Ashutosh said on Wednesday that Kejriwal will not take Z-plus security because it hinders his interaction with the people.

Delhi's chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal will have to take the Z-plus security cover or else give in writing to Delhi Police that he does not require the mandated cover under the laid down protocol.

Delhi's chief minister-designate Arvind Kejriwal will have to take the Z-plus security cover or else give in writing to Delhi Police that he does not require the mandated cover under the laid down protocol.

Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory gets a Z-plus security cover but Kejriwal, during his earlier stint, had refused any security. A senior Aam Adami Party (AAP) leader has said Kejriwal will not take the Z-plus security this time too.

However, Delhi Police officials will be holding a meeting soon with AAP leaders for helping in convincing the Chief Minister-designate for getting the mandated security cover, official sources said. Delhi Police had a tough time during Kejriwal's previous term when they had to shadow him from a distance besides clearing the way before his movement on roads.

AAP leader Ashutosh said on Wednesday that Kejriwal will not take Z-plus security because it hinders his interaction with the people.

"If he has to accept the Z-plus security then the police should give solid reasons and the level of threat for that kind of security," Ashutosh had said.

Under the Z-plus security, Kejriwal will be protected round-the-clock by 12 commandos armed with automatic guns. Under the heightened security cover, armed guards will be kept at his residence and visitors will have to pass through Door Framed Metal Detector (DFMD).

A pilot car followed by two escort cars carrying security personnel will accompany Kejriwal wherever he goes.
