A young techie working in the Cognizant company in Pune died after he collapsed at his workplace inside the company on Senapati Bapat road on Monday night.
Satish Ratanrao Musale who was in his late 20s was a native of Washim district but he was staying in Pashan-Sus road area. He was working as a software engineer at Cognizant's Senapati Bapat road office.
According to police, Satish collapsed inside the office and he had to be rushed to the hospital. Senior inspector Satish Dhome, in charge of Chatuhshrungi police station said, "We received the information from the hospital that Satish was brought from the company to the hospital but before his condition could be revived, he died."
"The company officials have given a statement that Satish had come to office on Monday as usual and he was working at his desk. At the evening, he vomited and collapsed on the floor after which he was taken to the hospital," Dhome added.
The company in its statement stated, "One of our associates was rushed to hospital on Monday evening following a medical emergency. Despite lifesaving procedure, he died in the hospital. Police are now investigating the cause of the death and we are cooperating with the police."
Police are now waiting for the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of Satish's sudden death. A case of accidental death has been registered in this regard and police stated that they will be recording statements of Satish's family members to know if he had any medical history.
