Annoyed over rumours of her impending nuptials to Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Rae Bareli MLA Aditi Singh lashed out at rumourmongers on Sunday.
She told The Times of India: “I am really saddened by the way such baseless rumours are being spread. Rahul ji is like an elder brother to me. I ritualistically tie rakhi on his hands. Those behind the link up are absolutely wrong and aimed to malign my image and that of Rahul Gandhi ji.”
She called it propaganda in wake of Karnataka elections. She said: “My wedding with Rahul Gandhi is propaganda in wake of the Karnataka elections. the intention appears to distract Congress leadership and workers who are toiling in Karnataka. And it is anyone's guess on who could be behind it."
Photographs of Rahul Gandhi and Aditi Singh were doing the rounds on Whatsapp. Earlier, the Rae Bareli MLA had tweeted: “Rahul Gandhi ji mere rakhi wale bhai hai. yeh afwah matra hai (Rahul Gandhi ji is like an elder brother to me. I tie rakhi to him. this is a mere rumour)."
