Union IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad again hit back at Rahul Gandhi on Monday, saying Cambridge Analytica’s footprint was evident in the Congress president’s election campaign in Gujarat. He attacked Congress’ “conspicuous silence” for five months on news reports of its involvement with the controversial UK firm.

Prasad’s attack came soon after Gandhi alleged that the government had invented “the Congress and data theft story”. “39 Indians dead; Govt on the mat, caught lying. Solution: Invent story on Congress & Data Theft. Result: Media networks bite bait; 39 Indians vanish from radar, Problem solved,” Gandhi tweeted.
