The five candidates, whose names have been announced by Congress party for five assembly constituencies in Indore, possess a decent track record when it comes to education and social activities.
Senior most of them all, Suresh Minda from Indore-4 possesses prolonged record of his involvement in students' politics and other social activities for decades. Minda is a post graduate (M.Com) from Gujarati College and was actively engaged in students’ politics for years, before being elected as a Congress corporator.
Sitting MLA from Sanwer, Tulsi Silawat is a post graduate and was actively involved in student politics in his early days. Antar Singh Darbar who hails from Mhow comes from farmer's family and for years, he has been associated with several co-operative organisations. Darbar had pursued Bachelor of Arts from DAVV and even got enrolled in LLB course at Gujarati College but later dropped out due to personal reasons.
Indore-3 sitting MLA Ashwin Joshi is a post graduate. Joshi was the first politician who had used water supply through private tankers for channelising public support in his constituency. This initiative had earned him the acronym 'Paani Wale Baba'.
Congress party's young face in the region, Jeetu Patwari also jumped into politics since his early days and even served as district and state Youth Congress head in his decade long political career. Patwari had pursued MA-LLB from Arts and Commerce College and had completed school education from Malhar Ashram School. He also hails from well off farmer's family from Rau area of the district.
