Congress MP from Vijayawada resigns to protest against Telangana decision

Congress MPs will meet today and decide their future course of action.

Congress MP from Andhra's Vijayawada, Lagadapati Rajagopal, is understood to have resigned in protest against the Centre's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh and form a Telengana state.
 
Sources said Rajagopal met speaker Meira Kumar this morning and is understood to have conveyed his decision to quit from the House. He then left for Hyderabad vowing to fight for unified Andhra.
 
Andhra Congress sources also said some more MPs from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region will resign in protest against the decision.
 
Sonia Gandhi will meet Congress MPs from the state over the issue.
