CHANDIGARH: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday said the Congress was not into horse-trading of MPs ahead of the trust vote in Lok Sabha and hoped that the government will "sail through" the floor test smoothly.
"The Congress is not into horse-trading...this is a malicious propaganda against the party," Mukherjee told reporters on the sidelines of the 29th annual convocation of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) here.
He asked the media to be "patient" about the outcome of trust vote on July 22. "We (the UPA) will be getting a clear mandate," he said.
He, however, did not divulge details of the UPA strategy, by saying that "the democratic process is underway."
Mukherjee parried most of the queries and rushed to New Delhi immediately after the function was over.
