Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has created a controversial storm by targetting Rahul Gandhi and his campaigns.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev had claimed in a rally at Lucknow that Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi goes to the houses of Dalits for picnics and honeymoon.
"The mother (Sonia Gandhi) wants that he (Rahul Gandhi) should become prime minister first and then marry a foreign girl. This boy doesn't want to marry a native girl. However, he likes going to Dalithouses for picnics and honeymoon. If he had married a Dalit girl, she too would have become rich," said Baba Ramdev.
Congress strongly condemned yoga guru Baba Ramdev who said in Lucknow yesterday that the party's vice-president Rahul Gandhi visits homes of Dalits "for honeymoon and picnic."
Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh said the yoga guru must apologise by terming the comments "anti-dalit."
"Ramdev's remark Anti Dalit. He must publicly apologise. We would like Modi and BJP to react to Ramdev's anti Dalit remark, Singh had tweeted.
Later, Baba said that he was willing to withdraw his comments if they hurt dalit sentiments.
He refused allegations that a BJP campaign was being worked out in his yoga camps.

Refuting Congress's allegations that he was campaigning for BJP in his Yoga camps, Baba Ramdev today said his camps were "apolitical". "My yoga camps are apolitical... We do not appeal for votes in these camps... Putting views in media is my constitutional rights," Ramdev said told reporters here.
Congress's state unit Vice President Satyadeo Tripathi had earlier alleged that Ramdev was campaigning for BJP through his camps and said his party had registered complaint with the Election Commission in this regard.
