Demanding firm action by government to handle the simmering situation in Jammu and Kashmir, the state BJP today said a "conspiracy" has been hatched from across the border to bring Kashmir issue into focus by disturbing normal life in the valley and the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
"Organisations like hardline Hurriyat Conference are virtually acting as frontline actors to execute the conspiracy with a view to creating a situation that will force government to accept their separatist agenda," former BJP state president & MLA Ashok Khajuria told reporters here.
He asked the authorities to handle the situation "with a firm hand" and demanded holding a meeting of various political parties to devise a strategy to deal with the situation.
The Kashmir Valley has witnessed violent protests over the killing of youths in alleged police firing.
