Indian officials were today given Consular access to 21 Indians detained by the Chinese authorities in Shenzhen province for allegedly smuggling diamonds.
According to the information available here, two officials - one from the Indian embassy and other from Consulate in Shenzhen - met the detainees one-by-one to gather information from them.
"They are being looked after well. They look in good condition," sources said here.
They said the officials will also ascertain whether these detainees need any help from the Embassy in getting legal assistance.
The 21 Indians, who were taken into custody on January 8 are kept at the detention centre in Shenzhen province, the sources said.
They are charged with illegal transportation of diamonds from Hong Kong to Shenzhen.
