Parents and relatives of Vishwa Patel, Ronak Panchal and Kartik Rajendran, who went missing recently, gathered at Shyamal crossroads.

Unhappy with snail-paced investigation by city cops, parents of missing children gathered near Shyamal crossroads at 3pm on Sunday. They also invited parents across Gujarat to come with the details of their missing kids on Wednesday at Law garden to decide the future course of action.

Parents and relatives of Vishwa Patel, Ronak Panchal and Kartik Rajendran, who went missing recently, gathered at Shyamal crossroads.

Vishwa, 11, had gone missing from her residence at Mira-Mangal apartment near Shyamal on January 27. Kartik,17, went missing the same day after he left his home in Khokhra to reach his class in Vastrapur, while Ronak, 11, went missing after he left his home in CTM to reach his school on February 22.

According to the parents, police are not doing enough to trace their kids. They alleged that there is complete lack of co-ordination between different agencies of police, i.e. crime branch, CID crime, local police stations and police of other cities and states. "They express helplessness when we approach them. They ask us to tell them where to go, as if I know where my son is right now. I sometimes think of ending my life after such inaction," said Rajendran, Kartik's father.

Relatives also point out at loopholes in the system. Other relatives expressed similar anger. "We are told that a copy of Ronak's photo along with details has been sent to all the police stations of the city. When I went to a police station to inquire, the on-duty policeman bluntly said that it might be lying somewhere in a file. If such is the attitude, how will our kids be found?" said a relative of Ronak, who also feel that local cops should go to other states to find their kids.
