In a Bollywood-style catch, the absconding squad of city police nabbed four members of notorious Fracture Gang after chasing them for about three km through the busy roads of Meghaninagar on Monday evening. The four were wanted in numerous cases registered against them at different police stations.
Those arrested were Sanjay Bhadoria alias Meblo, a resident of Vejalpur; Rahul Shah alias Circuit, a resident of Odhav; Kunal Barot, a resident of CTM; and Gaurav Singh Chauhan, a resident of Vejalpur. They are involved in illegal activities like gambling, liquor trading and diesel-theft
The absconding squad, headed by inspector VR Malhotra, nabbed the four along with a Toyota Qualis car, two country-made pistols, two knifes, four mobile phones —all worth Rs2.28 lakh — from Tatanagar Society in Meghaninagar area. The squad had been set up by police commissioner Sudhir Sinha.
The police registered a case against the four under Arms Act at Meghaninagar police station. The gang members have against them a number of cases against them at different police stations. In the gang war that took place last back, they were involved in a shootout with members of rival Vishnu Marwadi gang.
Inspector Malhotra has asked all police stations in the city to inform him about the cases, if any, pending against the four. The squad has arrested 52 history-sheeters, including the four, in last 40 days.
