Expressing displeasure over the police failing to arrest rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, the Allahabad High Court has reserved its order in the PIL for Friday. After taking suo moto cognisance of the Unnao rape and murder case, a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice DB Bhosale and Justice Vineet Kumar were not satisfied with the reply of the state’s advocate general Ragvendra Singh when he submitted before the court that a case has been registered against the rape accused MLA and CBI inquiry has been recommended by the state government.
“Why has the MLA not been arrested yet?” asked the bench twice and directed the advocate general to reply. When the hearing resumed, the AG submitted that the police do not have adequate evidence.
