PANAJI: Superstar Amitabh Bachchan has been summoned by a court here on November 29 in connection with a case filed by a non-governmental organisation for alleged violation of anti-tobacco laws.
A judicial magistrate's court issued the summons on Monday to Bachchan and four others in the case filed by National Organisation for Tobacco Eradication, NGO counsel Vilas Thali said on Tuesday.
The NGO said Bachchan violated anti-tobacco laws by appearing in an advertisement that featured a photograph of him with a cigar in the film Family.
Producer Keshu Ramsay, his company DMS Films Private Limited, Anchor Daewoo India and AB Corp Ltd were named respondents.
