As the national capital battles the fourth wave of the deadly coronavirus, as many as 37 doctors at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi have tested positive for COVID-19, hospital sources said on Thursday (April 8).
All the 37 doctors doctors were vaccinated as they had received both shots of the COVID-19 vaccine during the first phase of the vaccination drive that commenced on January 16 and covered all health care workers.
Most of these doctors have mild symptoms. A few of them complained of uneasiness and they have been hospitalised.
Currently, 32 doctors are in home isolation and five doctors are admitted in the hospital.
The national capital on Thursday (April 8) reported 7,437 fresh cases and 24 related deaths in the last 24 hours, the health department informed on Thursday. The spike was the highest single-day rise witnessed in Delhi since November 19 last year when 7,546 COVID-19 cases were registered.
