Meanwhile, 20 year old Firdous Ahmad Khan received minor injuries when he fell down on a stone when a group of people were pelting stones at a security force convoy at Singhpora in Pattan in Baramulla district this morning.

The hardline faction of Hurriyat led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani has called for a strike and peaceful demonstrations today. The moderate faction of Hurriyat headed by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq has also given a call for strike to protest against the killing of people during protests.

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has convened a meeting of the Unified Headquarters later in the day to discuss the prevailing situation in the Valley which has been hit by fresh protests that left four persons dead yesterday.

Originally scheduled last evening, the meeting was not held as senior police and paramilitary officials were busy in ensuring the law and order situation in the Valley.
