Dal Khalsa welcomes Aung San Suu Kyi's release

Suu Kyi is "an inspiration for all who believe in freedom of speech, democracy, liberty and human rights," Dal Khalsa secretary for political affairs Kanwar Pal Singh said.

Radical outfit Dal Khalsa today welcomed the release of Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi and demanded that the country's military junta set free all political prisoners.

Suu Kyi is "an inspiration for all who believe in freedom of speech, democracy, liberty and human rights," Dal Khalsa secretary for political affairs Kanwar Pal Singh said here.

Calling Suu Kyi "a global symbol of moral courage", he said she has always been an inspiring figure for all those who believe in non-violent struggle.
