Rumours about escaped crocodiles have been flying around since the November 25 and the MCBT India's Twitter profile have been trying hard to stop the rumour.

There have been so many rumours floating around about Chennai and the latest one is about a bunch of crocodiles lose in the city. The news is completely false and The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology has debunked it to stop the rumour-mongering. They wrote on Twitter: “Please don't spread the wrong news. There has been no containment issue. All our crocs are safely contained.”

A WhatsApp message has been doing the rounds in Chennai which warns people about a ‘hurricane’ and ‘250cm rainfall in Chennai’. The message claims that the aforementioned information was a warning from NASA.

According to The NewMinute, the MET department has predicted only light showers in Chennai on Wednesday and IBN hasn’t made any such telecast. Whatsapp groups often carry bizarre messages and an earlier one claimed that NASA had predicted an earthquake in India.
