Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh today took a jibe at Ramdev, who today disclosed details of his business empire worth over Rs1,100 crore, saying that the Yoga guru should declare his assets correctly.
"Let him declare the assets but you should remind him that he does it correctly," Singh told reporters when his attention was drawn to Ramdev's move.
Ramdev, who is on an indefinite hunger strike against black money and corruption at Haridwar after being evicted from Delhi, today made public details of his business empire worth over Rs1,100 crore, claiming everything was in order.
The AICC general secretary, who has been attacking the Yoga guru ever since he launched his fast against black money, said that he was indeed sad to see four ministers including Pranab Mukherjee going to airport to meet the Yoga Guru.
Clarifying his remarks made to a TV channel yesterday, he said, "I had not said that he (Mukherjee) committed a mistake. I had said I was pained and not that he committed a mistake by going there."
Singh had told the channel that he felt "very sad and unhappy that Pranab Da went there" and that "he (Mukherjee) virtually staked his political career" with that step.
Party spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan, parried questions on Singh's statements and her refrain was that "government will answer and explain for whatever action it has taken or regarding the strategy."
On certain statements by Anna Hazare and other civil society representatives dubbing the government as "liars, conspirators and cheats", she said, "We totally reject it. This is absolutely unacceptable."
