Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday took an indirect jibe at Pakistan stating that countries who fail to protect 'their sovereignity' end up like 'our neighbouring nation' who can't build roads or do trade on their own.

"Countries who fail to protect their sovereignty become like our neighbouring nation...who can't build their roads on their own, nor walk on them, not even do trade on their own or stop someone from trading..," tweeted the Defence Minister.

Rajnath Singh made these comments at the  Armed Forces Flag Day CSR Webinar.

He said that as COVID-19 spread throughout the nation forcing people to stay indoors, "our brave soldiers were fearless and bravely engaged in protecting the borders".

"Today, I am very happy to be present among all of you at the CSR Conclave organized by the 'Central Sainik Board' of the Ministry of Defense. As you all know, today's program is dedicated to our heroes, whose sacrifices and sacrifices make us, and our country, feel safe from all sides," tweeted the Defence Minister Office.

"Whether it is to win in multidimensional wars fought to protect India's integrity, and sovereignty, or to counter terrorist activities from across the border, our armed forces have responded to challenges with great vigour. During the COVID-19 period, the problems of these ex-servicemen have increased in many ways. Despite this, you will be surprised and happy to know that even in this epidemic our ex-servicemen are not behind," he added.

On Monday, Rajnath Singh categorically stated that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit-Baltistan are an integral part of India and are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan.

He took to the social networking site Twitter and said, "Gilgit-Baltistan is under illegal occupation by Pakistan and is now going to make it a state on which our government has said in two words that from PoK to Gilgit-Baltistan is an integral part of India."

He also tweeted, "We did not want India to be divided but it was done. You are also aware of the Hindu-Sikh-Buddhist who remained in Pakistan and how they have been dealing with them. We enacted a citizenship law for minorities facing religious persecution there,"
