The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for light to moderate rain for the next two days in Delhi. It has forecasted a generally cloudy sky with light rain or thunderstorms in its seven-day forecast.

On Monday, the Safdarjung base station saw a minimum temperature of 29.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, and the maximum temperature on was 36.6 degrees Celsius, which is also two notches above normal.

At 11.30 am, the IMD said in an X post, “Moderate rainfall accompanied with moderate thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at NCR (Ballabhgarh), Palwal (Haryana), Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Daurala, Meerut (U.P.) Light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at few places of Delhi (Narela, Alipur, Burari, Delhi University, Civil Lines, Pashchim Vihar, Kashmiri Gate, Rajauri Garden, Red fort, Budha Jayanti Park, Dwarka, Delhi Cantt, Palam) Yamunanagar, Panipat, Gannaur, Sonipat (Haryana) Saharanpur, Deoband, Nazibabad, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnaur, Chandpur, Baraut, Modinagar, Garhmukteshwar, Pilakhua, Hapur, Gulaoti, Raya, Mathura (U.P.) during next 2 hours.” 

The maximum and minimum temperatures to witness to drop to 34 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, till Thursday.
