Ahead of the upcoming assembly elections scheduled to take place next month, the Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday (January 19) released its manifesto.
The manifesto titled 'Kejriwal ka Guarantee Card' promises a continuation of earlier schemes like 200 units of free electricity, 'mohalla marshals' and round the clock clean water for the residents of Delhi.
The manifesto was released by Delhi's chief minister Arvind Kejriwal in presence of other senior leaders of the party.
"This guarantee speaks about things which affect every resident of Delhi. We have already fulfilled some promises. We are now promising in our guarantee card that it will continue. The opposition says these schemes will only be there till March 31 and Kejriwal will scrap this later," ANI quoted Kejriwal as saying.
He also promised that the city will be freed from hanging electricity wires as the current would be generated through "underground cables."
Other than that, he said that more 'mohalla clinics' will be set up in the future along with metro connectivity of additional 500 km.
Kejriwal further said that "two crores tree will be planted in the next five years" to reduce air pollution.
The manifesto also promised a world-class education facility for every child born in Delhi. It also promises free bus rides for students in Delhi.
On Tuesday, AAP announced the list of candidates for all 70 seats for the upcoming assembly elections.
Delhi Assembly elections will be held on February 8 while counting of votes will be conducted on February 11.
The ruling AAP is locked in a triangular contest with the BJP and the Congress but is favourite to retain the Union Territory.
Among its key candidates, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will contest from his current constituency of New Delhi while his deputy Manish Sisodia will again contest from Patparganj.
AAP's Lok Sabha candidates Dilip Pandey, Atishi and Raghav Chadha have been fielded from Timarpur, Kalkaji and Rajinder Nagar, respectively.
