A Delhi based-organisation Saturday demanded the withdrawal of another book by American author Wendy Doniger on Hinduism.
Last month, Penguin India withdrew from publication the American professor's book "The Hindu: An Alternative History" in an out-of-court settlement, which came after a settlement with Dinanath Batra of the Shiksha Bachao Andolan Committee who had filed a civil suit and two criminal complaints.
It has now demanded to Aleph Book Company to stop or pulp all remaining copies of Doniger's other book "On Hinduism".
Batra said Doniger's book contains derogatory terms for Hindu deities, which has hurt the sentiments of devotees.
Atul Kothari, co-convener of the committee, said the publishers have assured that they would pulp the book within a week. He said if the publisher does not take any step, then they will go for legal action.
