NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old Delhi Police constable and his wife were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their home on Friday morning, the police said.
Som Pal, who was posted at Rashtrapati Bhavan, was found dead outside the bathroom with an electric wire tied to his hand. His wife Poonam's body was lying inside the bathroom of their Model Town home. Police broke into the flat around 10.30 a.m.
A senior police official said Poonam might have bled to death due to severe injuries on her head.
"There was no injury mark on Som Pal's body except an electric wire tied to his hand. We suspect Som Pal might have killed his wife first and then electrocuted himself to death. No valuables were missing from the house that was bolted from inside," he said.
“But nothing concrete could be said before the post-mortem report,” the officer said.
The police said except the deceased no one else was present in the house.
