Expressing concern over the Kashmir situation, Panun Kashmir (PK), an organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today appealed to prime minister Manmohan Singh and chief minister Omar Abdullah to remove from the employment package for the displaced community the clause of returning to the valley.
"We appeal to the prime minister and the chief minister to realise the gravity of the situation prevailing in Kashmir and intervene decisively by delinking the employment package for displaced Kashmiri Hindus from return to the Valley," the leaders of PK told reporters here today.
The chairman of the organisation Ajay Chrungoo said that all the new posts created for the youth of the community should be shifted to Jammu where the situation is stable as well as secure.
Claiming that the situation in the valley was worse than what had existed in after Sangrampura, Wandhama and Nagimarg incidents, Chrungoo said in such a situation, it is baffling for the members of the community to understand as to why the state government is persisting with its policy of implementing the PM's employment package only if Kashmiri Hindus agree to return to the valley.
"In the eventuality of any mishap, both the state and the Centre are liable to be charged with wilful negligence and they cannot hide behind the written undertakings being forced on the Kashmiri Hindu candidates selected for recruitment in the Valley," the PK leader said.
The chairman of advisory committee of PK MK Taing said that the reports from the valley point out to a collusion between the separatist forces leading the campaign with elements operating within administration and political parties.
Also the reports of infiltration from across the border are pouring in almost on daily basis, he said, adding that the possibility of replenishment of terrorist cadres as well as their weaponry and other logistics has enlarged significantly in the current environment in the state.
The president of All State Kashmiri Pandit Solidarity Conference ON Trisal urged the authorities that KP youth should be adjusted in Jammu and Ladakh regions of the state against the posts created under PM's package.
