Singh said Pakistan has been using terrorism to weaken India, but its "nefarious designs" would not be fulfilled

Deputy chief minister Nirmal Singh said the terrorist attack on a CRPF camp in Srinagar was a desperate attempt by Pakistan to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir. A CRPF officer and two militants were killed while nine others were injured when ultras attacked security forces at Nowhatta in downtown Srinagar. "Pakistan has been continuously doing such type of things and it always tries to disrupt the peace in Jammu and Kashmir and in the country. It is a desperate attempt ... every time they face defeat...time too their fate would be the same," Singh told reporters after an Independence Day function here.

He said Pakistan has been using terrorism to weaken India, but its "nefarious designs" would not be fulfilled. "Terrorism is its (Pak's) instrument which it uses to weaken India but its designs would never be fulfilled," he said.
"Terrorism will devour Pakistan and would eliminate it.  India is capable enough to deal with such type of acts", Singh said.

He warned Pakistan to mend its ways as it was on the "verge of disintegration". "Pakistan is standing on the verge of disintegration, be it Baluchistan or Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), people are running a movement for independence. If Pakistan does not mend its ways it will disintegrate," he added.

On the surfacing of Pakistani flags and Burhan Wani's posters in Srinagar yesterday, he said the culprits of such acts would be punished as per the law. "This type of act is done by the anti-national elements supported by Pakistan. It's a long battle; we will never accept such attempts and those who are involved in such activities would be punished", he said. In his Independence Day speech, the deputy CM said that attempts were being made to vitiate the atmosphere in the Jammu region also but the people foiled such nefarious designs.
