The Congress general secretary hailed the Supreme Court judgement quashing allotment of land to the Kushabhau Thakre Trust by the Madhya Pradesh government.

Congress general secretary, Digvijay Singh today hailed the Supreme Court judgement quashing allotment of land to the Kushabhau Thakre Trust by the Madhya Pradesh government, and demanded that criminal proceedings be initiated against those responsible.

Singh said that as senior BJP leader, LK Advani, was among the trustees, a criminal case should be filed against him also, apart from the then Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Revenue Minister.

The Congress general secretary told PTI it was strange that the application for the land allotment was made to the government even before the trust came into existence.

Singh alleged that BJP government in Madhya Pradesh had allotted pricey prime land to people and organisations favoured by it.

It was now the duty of the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta to look into all such allotments, he said.

The apex court today cancelled the state government's notification in 2004 for alloting around 30 acres of land to the Trust, whose trustees include Advani, M Venkaiah Naidu and Murli Manohar Joshi.
